With the help of "the belt and road initiative", the textile industry accelerates the expansion of the global "circle of friends"

Different from the previous processing and manufacturing and capacity transfer, the current textile industry "going out to sea" has a little more "sharing" flavor. At the recent 2017 China Textile Industry "Going Global" Conference, participating experts and entrepreneurs believed that with the help of the "Belt and Road", the global "circle of friends" of the textile industry is accelerating its expansion.

Rooted in the local "Silk Road" global

The more we face downward pressure, the more we have to find a way out in a wider range and "draw" energy. Accelerating the pace of "going out" and integrating high-quality resources on a global scale will help shape new competitive advantages in the textile industry, and the "Belt and Road" will provide huge opportunities for this.

Gao Yong, secretary of the Party Committee of the China Textile Industry Federation, said that most of the countries along the "Belt and Road" have rich resource endowments for the development of the textile industry and have great potential for the development of the textile industry. The interconnection of infrastructure, the continuous improvement of the business environment, and the accelerated flow of human capital will create an environment for textile enterprises to "go global" and reduce hidden dangers.

According to the survey of China Textile Industry Federation, at present, the initiative of enterprises in international layout has been significantly improved, and the breadth and depth of overseas investment are expanding. In Vietnam, Huafu color spinning, Youngor, Lutai and other enterprises cotton yarn production more than half of Vietnam's total output. More and more textile enterprises are taking advantage of the "Belt and Road" to build an order-taking model that closely matches the production capacity of relevant countries and regions.

"At present, the export of my country's textile industry has reached the order of 300 billion US dollars, and the'Belt and Road' will provide more opportunities for international cooperation in the textile industry." Gao Yanmin, director of the Consumer Goods Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will timely issue guiding opinions on the linkage layout of the textile industry at home and abroad, clarify specific support policies, encourage enterprises to build overseas raw material bases such as cotton and wool, stabilize the supply of raw materials, and strengthen the ability of brand building and channel development in the target market.

Gather the power of multiple parties to achieve co-creation and sharing

"Going out" is not only a one-way overseas investment or capacity transfer. Under the new situation, the "going out to sea" of the textile industry also presents new characteristics, with a little more flavor of "sharing and co-creation.

Processing enterprises no longer only earn money from manufacturing, designers can also share the dividends of the whole industry chain. More and more companies are exploring the establishment of cross-border cooperation platforms, changing "market competition" into "market cooperation", allowing manufacturing, design, channels and other parties to produce "chemical reactions" on the platform, accelerating the increase in the added value of textiles, and turning "local products" into "new fashion".

The domestic clothing brand Ewen and the western fashion industry jointly initiated the establishment of the B & H platform, attracting designers, craftsmen, manufacturing factories, distributors and other shared manufacturing from many countries. At present, thousands of embroiderers, hundreds of enterprises and designers have been gathered, and many related industrial enterprises such as home textiles, jewelry, luggage and bags have also joined them.

Some people in the industry said, "on a broader stage, use the 'long plate' to touch the 'long plate' to reshape the advantages."

Shandong Ruyi has established industrial bases in 5 countries, forming a complete wool textile clothing industry chain and cotton textile printing and dyeing industry chain. Youngor, Lutai and other textile enterprises are also carrying out cross-field and cross-link resource integration and cooperation, introducing technological achievements and creative strength.

According to data from the China Textile Industry Federation, from January to July this year, the quality and efficiency of the textile industry improved significantly. Enterprises above designated size achieved a year-on-year increase of 9.1 in main business income and a year-on-year increase of 11.9 in total profits.

   Group "go to sea" to resolve risks

"Fighting alone" is not as good as "going out to sea". The trend of domestic textile enterprises integrating resources and jointly "going out" is more obvious.

Gao Yong said that since the establishment of the China Textile International Capacity Cooperation Enterprise Alliance in March this year, more and more textile companies have joined them to jointly resist disorderly competition and promote the docking and cooperation of high-quality international capacity projects.

"International production capacity cooperation should adhere to the principle of both positive and sound layout." Xu Yingxin, executive vice president of the Textile Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said that safety is reflected in guiding enterprises to make investment mergers and acquisitions objectively and rationally and make scientific decisions, which requires the government, industry organizations and enterprises to unite.

Gao Yanmin said that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will strengthen its support for the basic research of the industry's "going global", especially in the orderly domestic and foreign linkage layout, and the promotion of cooperation in the textile industry of countries along the "Belt and Road. In addition, it will speed up the construction of a "going out" information platform to guide enterprises to make rational investment decisions and protect their interests.
