Textile attention! California fire, Los Angeles logistics emergency! Or will affect the Christmas before and after the foreign trade orders!

On the evening of December 4, a catastrophic fire broke out in southern California, USA. At present, nearly 30,000 people have been forced to evacuate, 260000 residents have lost power and many roads have been closed.

According to the "Washington Post" (The Washington Post) reported that the fire "Thomas" (Thomas Fire) first occurred in Santa Paula (Santa Paula), northwest of Los Angeles, California.

Due to the strong wind "Santa Ana Winds" (Santa Ana Winds), the fire spread rapidly to Ventura County (Ventura County) in just a few hours from the evening of the 4th to the morning of the 5th.

With the help of strong winds, low humidity and dry vegetation in Santa Ana, the fire is encroaching on Southern California at a rate of more than an acre per second, with tens of thousands of people evacuated, hundreds of buildings burned down, parts of many important local highways closed, and famous landmarks such as the Getty Center threatened.

CNN reported that if the fire broke out in Manhattan, New York, it could burn the entire Central Park to ashes within 15 minutes.

The largest wildfire was in Ventura County, about 110 kilometers northwest of Los Angeles. It covered an area of more than 200 square kilometers. At least 150 buildings were burned and about 27000 people were evacuated.

The wildfire started on the evening of the 4th. With the help of strong winds with a maximum speed of 85 kilometers per hour, the area of the fire expanded rapidly. By midnight on the 4th, it had expanded to about 40 square kilometers. The fire-fighting helicopter was forced to stop under the strong wind.

In the early morning of the 5th, a completely out-of-control fire approached the city of Ventura. The local government continued to expand the scope of mandatory evacuation, and a large number of people fled.

According to the official announcement, the controlled range of the "Thomas" fire is 0%, and it is expected to burn to at least 50,000 acres (about 202 square kilometers) to be effectively controlled.

The Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles reminds local Chinese citizens to pay attention to official fire disaster changes and media reports, follow the guidelines, and try to avoid going to controlled areas; strengthen security precautions to ensure personal safety. For more information on the prevention of bush fires, please refer to the "Remind Chinese Citizens to Beware of Jungle Fires" previously issued by the Consulate General.

It is worth noting that the wildfire will have a direct impact on the logistics and transportation of LA City and even CA State.

The fire also burned to the highway, causing traffic paralysis: Highway 5 was closed, some sections of the 405, 150, and 215 highways were closed, and the 101 was severely blocked......

Under the influence of strong winds, the fire was not under control at all, but became more and more intense. There are at least five wildfires burning at the same time......

The forecast shows that the strong wind will continue to exert force, and many places in southern Canada may induce new wildfires......

Textile traders who have recently exported to the United States must pay attention!!!

It is understood that the fire caused tens of thousands of people to evacuate and many roads were closed.

Foreign trade enterprises and freight forwarding companies should pay attention to the fact that fabrics are taking or plan to take the route of California in the United States. They should pay attention to the impact of fire in time and adjust the stock preparation plan in time.

It is recommended to understand the latest situation before delivery, or re-plan the route to avoid unnecessary losses. The goods on the road can be contacted with the logistics provider in time to find the best solution.
